    Hiya & welcome
    It isn't necessary to change the media, Just do a 20% water change after the completed treatment. then again in a few days. If you replace the media, you will create a new cycle ...because the bacteria needed for a healthy tank will have been removed with the media..
    Best defense against White spot is turning your temp up to 30 and treat with WSpot meds & wc's. Best of luck.

    agreed Mooo.

    The parasite lives in the fish, not the media. the medication will take care of any spores still floating around in the media.

    As always i recommend getting a UV steriliser. never have white spot again <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

    thanks guys! I would normally treat with hotter temp, but I have some borneo suckers in my tank and they really can't handle hot temps. Thanks

    remember that catfish can't deal with the medication at full strength either, you have to run half dose for twice as long. found that out the hard way bak in the day when i killed all my BN
