I've seen a large number of products around for plant fertilisers (seachem, dino pee, spit and dung: off the top of my head ) I just want to know which elements, or compounds (im not that bad at chemistry ) a plant actually needs to promote luxurious growth

I use the Dino range and others I know, swear by the Seachem range, both are the better choice of ferts, IMO, be weary of ones containing copper if you own shrimp...

how long would a 125ml dino pee bottle last in a 400L tank? That's 20 drops a day
or for dino spit which is 40 drops per day

I am shocking at maths but my bottles last well over 6 months, I don't do it daily tho, I maybe add a few squirts per every other day...

I use the dino range aswell and havent even got through a 125ml bottle in about nine months in a 260l tank. They seem to go a long way. i would also recommend some dino dung in the gravel. Im like moo though and only seem to use it every other day.

would you recommend dry ferts from aquagreen? say pmdd, or csm+b ? i've heard they're much cheaper and economical, how do they compare with dino

I love the dino range. I am putting in my next order as we speek. I had two bottles of dino pee and its lasted me about 5 months but that said i keep my tank well fertilised as i have fast growing plants with CO2 injection, so i need to keep the ferts up.

I have never used the other ferts he sells but cant see them being much better than the pee unless you have a specific need for your plants.

And def go the dino poo too, though be careful when you go to move stuff around the tank...looks like a mini nuclear bomb going off if you move one!

I've personally used the Brightwell Aquatics plant foods with amazing success.

In particular I used FlorinMulti which is your base multi-element fertiliser and supplemented with FlorinGro, Florin-K and Florin-Fe which is nitrogen, potassium and iron.

Do not use dino dung with an undergravel filter!
