Are we looking at the squishy thing that gets hit right near the end? I've got no idea what it is...

Was thinking that myself , although nothing comes out of the tubes and it affixed to the rock .

Turn the lights out, put some food in the tank and when you sneak back with a torch it might be right out enough to see properly.
