My comet has slowly had her gills either eaten or decaying away her right gill is much worse than her left gill but both are affected she is in a 200Ltr tank with 4 bristlenose pleco's and on a couple of the BN pleco's their tails have split I'm not sure if its due to them chasing one another as 2 are male and 2 are female and have been chasing one another quite vigorously around the tank but I'm in the process of resealing another 4 foot tank to put my comet in so I can have the pleco's by them selves in their own tank. I've tested the aquarium water Ammonia=0 PH=6.2 Temp=28°C/82.4°F I do 25% water changes once a week and use Aqua Master Water Ager chlorine neutraliser to the added water.
Please help my comet her appetite has not changed and is eating like usual the only thing I've noticed is the occasional yawn.

Goldfish shouldn't be in tropical waters.
Even Bristlenose would be uncomfortable at 28 degrees. -
Hi Frankie50 and welcome,
TT is right about the temperature for the goldfish, it would be better at around 20c to 24c and your ph is a bit low as well, they prefer it at about 7.4 to 7.6.
As for your Bn's ph and temp is ok, mine live in a temp of between 25c in winter to 30c in summer. Now to the problem of Bn's split fins, that will be in-house fighting between them selves, do you have lots of wood in there so the males can set up their own territories?
Sorry you pics didn't work.
What online photo storage site do you use to host your pics?, I use photobucket so I open the pic I want, on the right hand side of the screen there are a few links, you click the HTML link and paste it to your post, I hope that makes sense.Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams. -
yeah, temps are out a bit. drop the temp to about 20-22 i reckon. bit low for the BN but they will survive easy enough.
what water do you use for the tank?
oh, and welcome! -
Could it be a fungus or rot?
