Setting up new canister filter.
Hey everyone,
Currently running a Ehiem 2213 filter but have gone up to a 2217 due to the fish I now have in the tank.
The 2217 has been used and cycled, but I was wondering how I should go about setting it up for my tank?
Can I run the two filters side by side until it has cycled? Or can i use as much of my media in the larger filter?
Any advice would be tops.
Rhys

Just run them side by side. No danger in that at all

Yep what Doug said and you could leave them both on the tank permanently, no such thing as to much filtration.Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams.

Well ended up running them side by side for the time being, previous owner had all the media mixed together and the flow was so bad, the 2217 was less then my 2213.. So cleaned it all in tank water and put all the tubes down the bottom and the bio balls on the top etc, the thing hauls ass now! Tank water is so much clearer.
