I don't know what to call this, but it's an Idea

Tell me what you think.

seems overly complicated. Why not simply put down the plant growth media (what ever you plan on using) and then put some fly screen over it, then a deep bed of gravel?

Did it say crayfish. you expect to grow plants with crays
I can't see that having a happy ending :-SS

10 outa 10 for endeavouring to create a new set-up, pretty over the top, but well done :P

@Jaguar, put a few pics of what you ended up doing, I'm interested to see how it turned out.Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams.

Me to! :P

Yea, but it has been done before, I usually have the plants grow into the substrate for a long time, the course sponge works well.Mooo said:Did it say crayfish. you expect to grow plants with crays

In my experience with yabbies, any plant they can't dig up will simply be snipped off at ground level.
