    Hehehe, I'm almost out of the hobby.
    Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams.

    Out of the hobby??? Nooooo! Great to hear from you Heintz, your advice and qualified knowledge is surely what this forum is bloody about! :D Your pics of your tanks are an inspiration, crystal clear.....I don't believe this forum is dead, it just needs to reinvent its self, Livefish could help, say $100 voucher for tank of the month??. That's my 10 cents worth :P

    I've said it before, I'll say it again. If our forum was easier to find we would have more members. At the moment our forum is way down at the bottom of the livefish.com.au page with shipping information etc. It would help if there was like a banner on the page that says " Do you have any questions about fish keeping? Ask our esteemed community here! " or something like that.

    A few of my other fish forums have seen a decline in activity over the last few years. My favorite local fish store is shutting down due to lack of business. Maybe the hobby as a whole is attracting fewer people?
    That would be a shame, I do enjoy my fish.

    It's always cheaper to stick with local known breeders or those willing to ship ;) If I don't buy from livefish, I get stock from well known good quality breeders ;) Or Brengun ;)

    That's the way of it all these chain stores, Pet Barn and the like, is what is putting most of the LFS out of business. Sad but true.

    Wow, can't believe I didn't put two and two together. Few months back a pet barn opened up in my city and then my LFS shuts. That musta been what pushed them over the edge. The pet barn is good though, they're willing to order stuff in for me. Nowhere near the same range and quality that the old store had though.

    I forgot to mention Facebook also has a part to play in the demise of the LFS, with all of the Fish groups popping up and members buying and selling to each other. Lets not forget EBay where you can get dry good at almost half price including delivery.

    I love online shopping :blush: & You are correct, forum traffic is limited now because there is a faster way to communicate ie facebonk ;) maybe forums admins didn't realise they were cutting the forums off by using facebonk and alike, anyways, it's the way it is :neutral: Can't stop a rolling stone :/

    Still keep checking in on a regular basis.

    I find I don't have a whole lot of patience/time for for those asking for easily found or "common sense" information.

    Really keen to see how Clicks paludarium comes on.

    I am still flat out for the next month or so and will then be looking at a rebuild of the "Umm" aquarium which didn't work out as I would have liked.
