Now just wanted to ask you guys a few questions
1. What species of turtle should I get? I really want one of the bigger hardier and turtles that live longer. Any suggestions???
2. I was planning on moving my rainbow shark and bristlenose catfish into the tank with the turtle? Would the turtle eat the other 2 fish? Would my rainbow shark bully the turtle?
Any answears would be greatly appreciated.

Terrapins will eat any fish they can swallow, so, no not a good idea. Long neck or short neck types are the best, but need a well filtered spacious tank, preferably outside as they"ll hibernate in the colder months.

Just found out that turtles need a pond after you keep them for 3 years... Rats... I got all excited☹️☹️☹️

Umm what are you basing this 3 year = pond idea off? As long as your tank is suitably large and provides for its needs, you don't need a pond.

According to the lady at the petshop the turtles after 2 years need a pond and grow to the size of a dinner plate... But anyway I might actually be getting an axolotol now...
