Amazon Plants - slow to grow

I got an amazon sword out of a neighbour’s tank (I have no idea what type it is) and I have put it in my aqua one 620T tank.
I don’t have any fish yet, the tank is still cycling. I’ve heard that Amazon Swords can be slow growing and I want to populate the tank with it. Does anyone in the brains trust have suggestions on how I would get this plant to grow (water temp, water hardness, etc.) . I have it in gravel and I gave it a dose of dino pee the other week to encourage growth.

Great plants, Get some root tabs, they need food at the roots
They set out runners, on which new plants grow, much like strawberries

Hey Dave according to the Aquarium Tidings site 6.5 to 7.5 ph, Temp 22 to 27 degrees, lower to moderate lighting. Ive had Amazons and they tend to go feral, you can always give to friends, mind you good tank plants ,easy to grow....cheers.

Thank you all. My LFS has got new owners, I plan to go down there on the weekend and see what's what, and get some root tabs. I got a second hand heater when I got this tank, I am slowly turning it up to the right temperature, still working how to use the temperamental thing too.“A fish tank is just interactive television for cats.”

So I got some root tabs today, thank you for the tip. I only pruned the roots back on the amazon sword to stimulate growth. The tank is really deep so I need to use some sort of arm prong device to help plant the plants. The prong I used actually cut one of the plants in half so now I have two plants... Wish there was a better system than a plastic two pronged poker. I had no trouble getting the plants into the gravel with it but 9 times out of 10 I would pull the plant out too because the prong was stuck on the plant.
The picture is the set I have which you can swap out the pieces, and the badly drawn circle is the fork (stupid thing!) that I don't like

Yeah pretty annoying, I affix a small pebble to the plant with a tiny rubber band, works a treat.

Here’s a bad photo of the tank how it is as of tonight. The battery on my phone was almost dead so no flash. I’m in no hurry to stock the tank, want to move ahead slowly and carefully. Right now I just want to get some plant growth. Fish can wait.“A fish tank is just interactive television for cats.”

I have never used tools to plant out, I use my hands mostly with the initial planting out.. Your tank is looking great
