Heater Controller
Using an STC-1000 controller to control your heater allowing the heater itself to be the secondary fail safe if something goes wrong. All up cost about $25. I set it to a variance of 0.3c but you can change that to whatever you like. In this build I didn't add the cooling side as I don't need it but the next one will have it as well. This unit actually turns the heater itself on and off not the temp gauge in the heater itself that is set slightly higher so if the stc fails the heater itself will turn off when the tank temp reaches 29c since the stc is set at 28c for my tank

There's nothing like having a bit of extra insurance especially where heaters are concerned.Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams.

Good to hear from you 321 Clayt, For $25 you cant go wrong, is there a power usage thingo? comparative to just a heater? etc just for interest sake. Cheers

The only extra power is just the digital read out on the display so that would be stuff all at best. For the cost of the extra power it's nothing
