It should be ok, I used to have a couple of HOB's on a 3ft tank until I swapped for a canister. What is the size of the tank? Edit: you might be better off with a canister filter.Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams.

Tank size is 4 ft x 18 x 18. I currently have an aquamanta 1200 running on the tank. I want to switch to a HOB because my canister in my books is not energy efficient. It is a 55 watts to run.

Wow that's a lot of power for a 1200lph, (not energy efficient at all) no wonder you want to change.

I forgot to ask, is this for your Goldfish tank? if so get yourself a power efficient canister like the one I mentioned above.Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes & dreams.
