G'day, My son has made a Aquarium Decoration for me to put in my tank. The item is made out of stones joined together with brickies mortar. I do not want to upset him by not putting it into the tank but am afraid that the mortar might effect the water. I would appreciate any comments regarding this please.

I dont think theres a problem with the mortar, i could be wrong, if its set hard, probably
ok. What sort of stones are they? -

I would recommend putting it in a bucket, check your water parameters, siphon a water change into the bucket and check your parameters again after 24 hours. I think it likely that there will be a change.

The rocks are fine, do what Bob suggested to make sure about the mortar.
